Growlithe #68 is one of those small, friendly faces from the Neo Destiny set that a lot of collectors have a soft spot for, even though it's just a Common. It came out back in 2002, drawn by Atsuko Nishida, and if you're searching for Growlithe value today, the honest answer is that a raw, ungraded copy sits around $3. It's not a card that will fund your next set, but it's a nice, affordable piece of Neo Destiny history that plenty of people still hunt down.

The collector's take on Growlithe

Is Growlithe worth grading?

So is Growlithe worth grading? Let's talk numbers first. A raw copy runs about $3, and a PSA 10 comes in at $31, which works out to roughly 10.3 times the raw price. That sounds like a solid jump, and it is, but you have to look at what it actually takes to get there. Out of the graded population, only 71 have made it to that gem mint PSA 10 grade, which tells you it's not a given even on a clean-looking card. Then there's the catch that a Grade 9 actually sells for more than a PSA 10 here, at $46, which is a good reminder that grading outcomes and market prices don't always line up the way you'd expect. Add in grading fees, shipping, and the wait, and for a $3 Common, it's worth being realistic: grading makes more sense if you're doing it as part of a bigger batch, or because you genuinely love the card, rather than chasing a quick profit.

How rare is Growlithe?

Scarcity is where this card gets a little more interesting than its price tag suggests. Across all grading services, only 379 copies of Growlithe have been graded, and of those, just 71 sit at the PSA 10 gem mint level. That's not a huge population by collector standards, and it means clean, high-grade copies aren't sitting around in every long box. It's a Common, so plenty of raw copies exist in the wild from packs and bulk lots, but once you start looking for graded, top-condition Growlithes, the number thins out fast, and that scarcity is part of what keeps PSA 10 copies commanding a real premium over raw.

Where can you pull Growlithe?

Here's where PackSpy's own pull data earns its keep, because this isn't something a price guide can tell you. We've recorded Growlithe pulled 200 or more times across packs, tilt-rips, mnstr, courtyard, and collector-crypt, so it's genuinely out there being opened, not just traded hand to hand. The biggest recorded pull value we've logged for it sits at $149, which shows that even a Common can land in a lucky, high-value rip depending on the product. We've seen it turn up in XY Evolutions, the Pokemon Dime Pack, Pack 2, The Amazing Chase Encore, and the Pokémon Starter Pack. Worth saying plainly though: opening packs chasing any one card is a gamble, and most rips don't beat what you'd pay buying the card outright on the secondary market.

Questions people ask

How much is Growlithe worth?+

A raw, ungraded Growlithe #68 from Neo Destiny is valued at $3. It's a Common, so that price reflects how available it is, especially compared to the set's rarer holo cards.

Is Growlithe worth grading?+

It can be, but go in with clear eyes. A PSA 10 sells for $31, about 10.3 times the raw price, yet only 71 of the 379 graded copies have hit that gem mint grade, and a Grade 9 actually sells for more at $46. Grading fees eat into a $3 card fast, so it's more of a passion move than a guaranteed profit.

How much is a PSA 10 Growlithe worth?+

A PSA 10 Growlithe is worth $31, which is about 10.3 times what the raw card sells for. Only 71 copies out of 379 graded have reached that top grade, so it's a genuine step up in rarity even if the card itself is a Common.
