Cookie Policy

The law says we need your permission before loading anything that sets cookies which are not strictly necessary. Google Analytics is one of those, so the banner asks.

Press Accept and Google Analytics loads. Press Decline and it is never requested at all: no script, no cookies, no connection to Google. The site works exactly the same either way, and nothing on it is held back behind the choice.

To change your answer later, press Cookie choices at the bottom of any page. Declining after you accepted deletes the Google cookies straight away.

• _ga. Set by Google Analytics. Holds a random id so Google can tell one browser from another and count a returning reader once rather than twice. Google's default lifetime is two years.
• _ga_YEPX2753S4. Set by Google Analytics for this site's property. Keeps the state of the current session. Google's default lifetime is two years.

Google Signals and the advertising features are switched off for this property, so your visit is not joined to an advertising profile. If you never press Accept, neither of these is ever set.

• Theme preference. Saved in local storage under pk-theme so the site remembers light or dark mode. It is not a cookie, is never sent to our servers, and is not used to identify you.
• Your cookie answer. Saved in local storage under packspy-consent so we do not ask again on every page. It is not a cookie and never reaches our servers.
• Administrator session. A single cookie set only when an administrator signs in to the private admin area. It is strictly necessary for that login to work and is never set for ordinary visitors.

We also count visits ourselves, on our own server, with no cookie and nothing written to your device. That counter is described on the privacy policy. Beyond the list above there are no advertising identifiers, no cross-site tracking and no fingerprinting.

When you click an affiliate link you leave PackSpy. The pack site you land on will usually set its own cookie to record that the referral came from us, and it may set analytics or advertising cookies of its own. Those cookies belong to that site and are governed by its cookie and privacy policies, not ours.

We have no control over them and cannot read them.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which may set strictly necessary cookies for security and load balancing, and keeps standard server logs. These are part of serving the site rather than tracking you across the web.

You can clear or block cookies and local storage from your browser settings at any time. On this site the visible effects are that it forgets your light or dark mode choice and falls back to dark, and that the cookie banner asks you again.
