ripz.gg Review: Is It Legit, and Is It Worth It?

What ripz.gg actually is

ripz is a pack shop with a reel. You pick a Pokémon set, any set, and open a pack from it on screen. The cards that come out are yours: keep them in your account, or have the real ones posted to you. Everything is priced in gems at a flat 100 to the dollar, which is refreshingly simple.

What makes it different is the shelf. Most rip sites sell you the last two years of Pokémon. ripz carries 188 sets, back through Sun and Moon, Black and White, the EX era, and the original WOTC run: Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, Team Rocket, Neo Genesis, Legendary Collection, Skyridge. It also carries 16 One Piece sets and 12 Lorcana sets, though Pokémon is where nearly everyone is.

If you want to open pokemon cards online with the widest choice of sets, this is the site. It is closer to a real rip than a pokemon pack opening game, and it sells online pokemon booster packs by the set rather than made-up tiers.

Is ripz.gg legit?

Is ripz legit? By the signals that can be checked from outside, yes. It publishes a provably fair page and a how it works page, it prints the odds for every slot of every pack rather than a single marketing figure, and it runs a public counter of every pack ever opened, which stood at 163,864 when we wrote this. Its Trustpilot profile is claimed and sits at 4.4 from 19 reviews, and the reviews that matter are the boring ones: buyers describing cards that turned up, tracked, in the condition promised. One reports receiving more than $1,000 of cards including a Mega Lucario special illustration rare.

Two honest caveats. The company behind the site is not named anywhere on its public pages, which sits oddly beside how open it is about everything else. And its own age gate describes what you are buying as virtual goods with no real-world value, language worth reading before you put a large sum in, even though the redemption path clearly does deliver physical cards. The free demo pack, and the referral pack

Before you spend anything, open the demo pack. No sign-up, no money, and it runs the real odds rather than a flattering demo mode. That is unusual in this category and it is the cheapest way to see how a pack behaves.

When you do sign up, ripz runs a referral system: share your ripz.gg referral code and you and the person who uses it each get a free Scarlet and Violet pack. New accounts are also offered a free card and a welcome chest. There is no ripz promo code beyond that which we can verify, and we will not print one we have not checked. What a pack looks like, and how the odds work

Most rip sites tell you a pack has a one in something chance of a big hit. ripz prints the whole structure. Take Surging Sparks. The pack is ten slots, and each one has its own printed weights: four common slots, three uncommon, one reverse holo, one enhanced reverse holo and one rare slot. The rare slot reads Rare 56.3%, Double Rare 16.7%, Ultra Rare 6.7% and Hyper Rare 0.8%. The enhanced reverse slot adds Illustration Rare at 7.7%, Special Illustration Rare at 6.0% and Hyper Rare at 0.7%, with a separate 5% chance of a Master Ball reverse on top.

That detail is genuinely useful, because it lets you price a pack yourself instead of taking the site's word for it. It is also the honest way to read it: those numbers describe a product where most packs return less than they cost, which is true of every pack you have ever bought in a shop. Printed odds do not make a pack a good bet. They make it an honest one.

Sets and prices: the widest range we have seen

Pricing tracks the real market, which is the right way to do it and also the thing to watch. Most modern single packs are $6, in line with a booster off a shop shelf: Twilight Masquerade, Destined Rivals and Mega Evolution all sit at $6.00. The median across all 85 Pokémon single packs is $12.50. Then the vintage packs climb steeply, because the real ones do too, and a Legendary Collection pack costs $900. Sealed boxes go the same way, with a Paldea Evolved booster box at $234. Nothing about that is unreasonable, but the price range on this one site spans a factor of 150, so check what you are clicking.

Gems, shipping and getting your cards

Everything on ripz is priced in gems at 100 to the dollar, with a 2% gem bonus on crypto purchases. When you pull something you want in hand, you request redemption and the physical card is shipped. This is where the Trustpilot reviews are the most useful evidence we have, because they are all recent and consistent: cards arrive, tracked, in about a week, packaged properly, and several reviewers ordered more than once. One notes a raw card arriving with slight edge damage, a normal risk with raw singles from anywhere. What we cannot tell you from outside is how the gem balance behaves if you would rather take value than cards, so if that matters, read the purchase and refund terms before you top up.

Is it fair? How to check a pull

ripz uses a provably fair system, which is a fancy name for a simple promise: the result of your pack is decided before you click, and you can prove it afterwards. The fairness page explains it, and every pull can be checked. Between that, the printed slot odds and the public counter of every pack ever opened, ripz gives you more ways to check its honesty than almost any rival.
