OpenThatPack Review: Is It Legit, and Is It Worth It?

What OpenThatPack actually is

OpenThatPack sells real sealed booster packs and opens them for you online. You pick a set, click, and the cards come out one at a time. What you pull is a physical card, held in a vault under your name, and you decide what happens next: keep it, sell it back for credit, or have it posted to you.

Pokémon is the biggest part of it, with more than twenty sets on the shelf. Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Lorcana and Riftbound sit alongside. Prices are what you would expect to pay for the pack itself: $5 for Pitch Black, $6 for Chaos Rising, $8 for Black Bolt, $16 for SV 151, $19 for Crown Zenith, $20 for Evolving Skies.

It is run by RW.SOFTWARE LLC, a Texas company based in Austin.

Why this one is different from a mystery box site

Most sites in this category invent their own odds. They put a list of cards in a box, assign each one a percentage, and the percentages are theirs to choose. Pullbox does that, Cases.gg does that, and there is nothing wrong with it as long as the numbers are published.

OpenThatPack does not do that. It opens a real sealed booster at the pull rates that booster actually has, the same ones a shop pack has, and it says plainly that it adds no house edge on top. In its own words, it matches the official odds of sealed packs.

That matters for two reasons. It means the maths is the maths of the hobby rather than the maths of a website. And it means the thing you are comparing it to is the price of the pack in a shop, not the payout of a box site.

We should be straight about the limit here: we cannot independently verify that the rates match. What we can confirm is that it publishes a fairness page and records every pull on the Solana blockchain, so a result can be checked afterwards.

Worldwide shipping with the VAT covered, and why that is the headline

This is the reason OpenThatPack is worth your attention if you are not American.

Almost every site in this category is a US operation that ships within the United States and leaves the rest of the world to work it out. Pullmarket has only proven US delivery. Courtyard ships internationally but at cost. Import VAT and handling fees are what turn a $40 card into a $60 one by the time it reaches a door in Ireland or Germany.

OpenThatPack ships worldwide, covers the VAT itself, and posts withdrawals over $100 for free by UPS Express. Cards are guaranteed Near Mint or better and quality checked before they go.

The timings are honest rather than fast. It aims to dispatch 1 to 10 cards within 5 days, 11 to 50 within 10 days, and 51 or more within 15 days, with an extra 5 days on very large bulk. UPS Express then takes 2 to 3 days. So a small order is realistically a week, not overnight.

We have not tested any of this ourselves. It is the site's own promise and the table above marks it as unproven.

Is OpenThatPack legit?

On the evidence we can check, yes, and this openthatpack review found nothing that reads as an open that pack scam. It names its company in its own Terms, RW.SOFTWARE LLC of Austin, Texas, with a street address. It runs a fairness page. It records pulls on a public blockchain. It states its shipping windows and its condition guarantee in writing.

Being fair about it, the site is new. There is very little independent feedback anywhere, and we have not opened a pack, tested a shipment or contacted support. That is the gap, and it is the same gap any young site has.

One small mark against the care taken: its own pages disagree about which games it carries. The how it works page says Pokémon, Magic and Lorcana in one place and Pokémon, Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh in another, while the homepage says Pokémon, One Piece, Magic and Riftbound. That is sloppy copy rather than anything sinister, but it is the sort of thing we notice.

Promo codes, the referral and the cashback

There is no OpenThatPack promo code to type, and no welcome bonus of the usual kind. What it runs instead, by its terms and the review sites that read them, is three things.

A referral programme: you get site credits for each friend who signs up through your link and makes a first deposit. An affiliate programme for approved creators, paid in credits too, using a referral link or an openthatpack referral code. And cashback: a percentage of what you spend ripping comes back as credit, with a sell-back bonus on top of it.

The sell-back, and what happens to your bulk

The real annoyance with opening packs is the bulk. Open twenty packs and you have four cards you want and a hundred you do not, and posting a hundred commons to yourself is pointless.

OpenThatPack lets you sell any card straight back from your inventory for site credit, instantly. So the flow is: open, keep the hits in the vault, sell the rest back, and put the credit toward the next pack or toward shipping the good ones.

Be clear that the sell-back pays site credit, not cash. That is the same as Pullmarket and most of this category. Money goes in, cards come out. If you want to turn a pull into money, you ship it and sell it yourself.

Which Pokémon sets are on the shelf

More than twenty, and the mix runs from brand new to the ones people still chase. At the cheap end, Pitch Black and Perfect Order and Mega Evolutions at $5, Chaos Rising and Surging Sparks at $6, Destined Rivals and Phantasmal Flames and Temporal Forces and Paradox Rift at $7.

In the middle, Black Bolt and White Flare and Paldea Evolved at $8, Prismatic Evolutions and Obsidian Flames at $9, Paldean Fates and Fusion Strike at $10, Ascended Heroes at $11.

At the top, Lost Origin at $14, SV 151 at $16, Crown Zenith at $19 and Evolving Skies at $20.

Those are close to what the packs cost in a shop, which is the point. You are paying for the pack, not for a repackaged box.

What Reddit and Trustpilot say about OpenThatPack

Trustpilot is thin but clear. On 7 September 2026 the openthatpack.com profile held a 4.1 from 15 reviews, 11 of them in the last year: 80% five star, 20% one star, nothing in between. The praise is for the packing, cards in sleeves and hits in toploaders, for the condition, and for support, with one named staffer, Mike, thanked for sorting a problem within hours on Christmas Day. The one-star reviews are two things: a doubt that the pull rates match real packs, from someone who opened nine packs for $48 and got $5 of cards, and a parcel lost by UPS where the reviewer felt nobody took responsibility. Another notes that a second order placed before the first ships gets combined with it, which slows both.

Reddit has no thread of any size on it yet. Scamadviser rates the domain as likely legitimate. So the record is short, mostly good, and carries the same two risks as any young site: odds you cannot verify yourself, and a carrier you cannot control.

Sites like OpenThatPack

rip.fun is the closest match: real sealed Pokémon boosters opened online with the cards redeemable. Packs.com does the same with TCGplayer singles behind it.

If you want graded slabs in a vault rather than raw cards out of a booster, Courtyard, Phygitals and Collector Crypt are the ones to compare, and Pullmarket if sports is what you are after.

Who OpenThatPack is for

You want to open real packs at real odds, you want the cards in your hand eventually, and you do not live in the United States. That last part is the clincher. Free worldwide shipping over $100 with the VAT covered is something almost nobody else in this category offers, and it is the difference between a card arriving and a customs bill arriving.

It is not for you if you want a big lottery ticket, because a $7 booster is a $7 booster. And it is not for you yet if you need a long track record, because this one is new and we have not put a shipment through it.
