The odds on every card are printed, every open can be checked afterwards, and 1,554 Trustpilot reviews average 4.5. Two things to know before you deposit. Boxed does not state its house edge, and across five boxes we checked from its own odds it pays back about 85% of the price. And Gems are not money: you get value out as cards, or as crypto only if you paid in crypto.

Boxed.gg is a mystery box website for trading cards: an online mystery box you open in the browser, or a case opening site if you know where the format came from. Most of its boxes are Pokémon card mystery boxes, with Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, sports card and CS2 skin boxes beside them. Pick a box, and every card inside it is listed with its Gem value and its exact chance. Open it, and one card is yours: ship it from Boxed's US warehouse, sell it back for its Gem value, or swap it on the Exchange. Around the boxes sit Battles, a Vending Machine, a Forge for building your own box, and a beta game called Hop or Drop. It is run by Loot Labs, Inc. of Seattle, backed by BITKRAFT, and it has been open since 2023.

Boxed is a card shop that runs on chance. You buy Gems, you open a box built around a set, and one card from that box is yours. It might be the Charizard at the top or a common from the bottom, and the site tells you the odds of each before you pay. If you like the card, they post it to you. If you do not, you sell it back for Gems and open another box.
It is Pokémon first: two thirds of the drops we watched came from Pokémon boxes like 151, Prismatic Evolutions II and Twilight Masquerade. Magic: The Gathering was next, then One Piece, then sports cards and CS2 skins. It has been running since 2023, it is a real Seattle company, and 1,554 people have reviewed it on Trustpilot at 4.5.
Yes, on everything we could check, and "is Boxed.gg legit" is the right first question for any case opening site. The company is Loot Labs, Inc., doing business as Boxed.gg, with a Seattle address in its terms and a Better Business Bureau profile under its own name. Its backer is BITKRAFT, the games fund that also put money into Discord and Epic Games, and the site says its leadership came out of 2K, Microsoft, Twitch and NASA.
It publishes a provably fair page that explains the system properly, shipping prices by country, a price-protection rule that holds a card's Gem value for seven days, and full purchase terms. And it has 1,554 Trustpilot reviews averaging 4.5, with customers posting photos of the cards that arrived.
The marks against it are real but small: eight complaints at the BBB in three years, seven of them unanswered, and a region block with no published list of countries. It is not a scam. It is a card shop that runs on chance, and it says so.

There is more. Luckback hands you Shards when a box pays less than it cost, to spend in a separate Luckback market. Gem Drops pay free Gems in the chat during the last two minutes of every half hour to ID-verified users. And Gem Missions, little polls, pay a few Gems each. The sign-up box, the daily boxes and Luckback are the three worth your time, because all three give you something for nothing or soften a loss.
Open any box and you see the whole drop table. Take Mega Evolution Moonshot, a 72-Gem Pokémon box, or the 151 box built around the Scarlet & Violet 151 set. Its table runs to 55 cards. At the top, a Charizard ex valued at 47,200 Gems, $472, at 0.02%, one open in 5,000. Then a Blastoise ex at 17,100 Gems, a Venusaur ex at 15,300, down through a Mew ex at 4,000 Gems and 0.2%. The bottom half is where most opens land: commons and trainers valued between 129 and 600 Gems at 5% to 10% each.
Every one of those numbers is on the page before you pay, which is the thing that separates Boxed from most of the pack sites we cover, where you see a headline card and guess at the rest. The spice meter above the table tells you the shape of the risk in one word, Low to Max, and the site warns you before you open a High spice box that you may open many before a decent hit.
The house edge is the slice the site keeps on average. Boxed does not print it, so we worked it out from the two numbers Boxed does print beside every card: what it is worth in Gems, and the chance of pulling it. Multiply each pair, add them up, and you have what the box pays back on average against what it costs.
We did that for five boxes. Perfect Order costs 549 Gems and pays back 466, 84.9%. First Partner: 1,086 in, 928 back, 85.5%. Mega Evolution Moonshot, the 72-Gem box with a one-in-a-million Pikachu: 61 back, 84.7%. Most Wanted, the 6,105-Gem box with a 324,300-Gem Umbreon in it: 5,189 back, 85.0%. Treasure Hunt III: 85.1%. Five boxes from 72 to 6,105 Gems, and every one lands within half a point of 85%. So Boxed keeps about fifteen cents in the dollar. Krush.gg prints 10% to 15% and Cases.gg prints 10%; Boxed does not print it, but its own odds give it away.
Two honest notes. The Gem values are Boxed's, and a card's Gem value is what Boxed will pay you for it, not what it sells for elsewhere. And 85% is the average across every outcome; on a High spice box most opens pay far less than that and a rare few pay far more.
Read this part twice. Gems cost a cent each and have, in Boxed's own words, no cash value. They cannot be withdrawn, sold or turned back into dollars. The way value leaves the site is as cards. You withdraw a card and it ships, for 550 Gems in the US, 1,000 to the UK or Canada, 2,500 to most of Europe, one to three weeks later.
There is a second route, but it depends on how you paid. If you bought Gems with crypto or CS skins, you can withdraw to crypto or Steam without limits. If you paid by card, you can still add a wallet, but every withdrawal is a manual request, capped each day at 50,000, 150,000 or 300,000 Gems by your verification tier.
So a card player who pulls a 47,200-Gem Charizard has a $472 card on the way, or a $472 Gem balance to open more boxes with, but not $472 in a bank account. That is the design, and Boxed is upfront about it, but it is the opposite of a site like Krush that will pay a prize out as balance you can withdraw.
Cards ship from a US warehouse, tracked, within one to three weeks. The fee is 550 Gems, $5.50, in the US, 1,000 Gems to the UK or Canada, and 2,500 Gems, $25, to most of Europe, and Boxed ships to about 20 countries. That fee is why a $2 common is never worth posting on its own. Batch your good cards into one shipment, sell the small ones back, and the fee stops mattering. Trustpilot reviewers post photos of what arrived, and the packaging gets praised more than anything else about the site.
Boxed is a Pokémon site first. Over 97 minutes on 27 August 2026 we watched 317 drops come out of its boxes, and 198 of them, 66%, came from Pokémon boxes: 151, Prismatic Evolutions II, Twilight Masquerade, Legendary Birds, Mega Evolution Moonshot and a long tail of player-built boxes. Magic: The Gathering was next at 20%, from boxes like The Hobbit and Rhystic Study. One Piece mystery boxes gave 5%, from Wild West Showdown, Wanted Dead or Alive and a Nico Robin box, and one of those was the biggest drop of the whole sample, a $592 Luffy wanted poster from a $0.97 box. Sports card mystery boxes and CS2 skin boxes made up the rest.
So if you arrived from a Pokémon mystery box search, this is the right site. If you came for One Piece or sports, the boxes exist but they are a small corner.
Battles put two or more players on the same boxes and the higher total wins the lot. It is the case-battle mode from the CS:GO world, applied to cards. The Vending Machine is a second box game where you pay per pull from a fixed machine rather than a themed box; about one drop in fifteen we watched came from it.
The Forge is the interesting one. Players build their own boxes from Boxed's card pool and other players open them, which is why the drops strip carries names like Hshahahaha and U will OPEN this BOX beside the official set boxes. A player-made box has the same printed odds as any other, so it is worth a look, but the official set boxes are where most people start.
Boxed sells subscriptions. PLUS is $24.98 a month for 2,625 Gems and seven box keys, PRO is $49.98, and ULTIMATE is $199.98 a month for 22,000 Gems, sixteen keys and two shipping vouchers. The bonus Gems are real, 35% to 60% on top by Boxed's own count, but a subscription is a commitment to spend that much every month, and the shop is built so that you will. XP boosts cost 99 to 699 Gems for one to 24 hours of faster levelling. Our advice: take the free stuff, buy Gems when you want to play, and leave the subscriptions until you know you will use them.
Boxed uses a provably fair system, which is a fancy name for a simple promise: the result of your open is decided before you click, and you can prove it afterwards. Before you open, Boxed shows you a scrambled code. Twenty-four hours later it reveals the answer, and any open in your history can be checked against it. If a pull ever feels wrong, go to your history and check it.
Four Reddit threads carry most of the discussion, and they disagree. In r/tradingcardcommunity, a January 2026 thread titled Is boxed.gg overhyped or actually good runs mostly positive: fast shipping, a smooth refund on a dinged card, one poster with more than 50 deliveries, and a warning that it gets expensive fast. A second thread, Best pokemon unboxing sites in 2026, says the same, though several of the replies in both are affiliates pushing bonus-Gem codes.
In r/PokemonTCG, an October 2025 thread called Boxed GG insane withdraw fee complains that the shipping fee was higher than the card was worth. That is real and it is by design: the US fee is $5.50, so a pulled common is never worth shipping on its own. And in r/Scams, September 2025, one user says a shipped card was fake and that support stopped replying; the thread has no resolution.
Put together with 1,554 Trustpilot reviews at 4.5, our read is this: the cards arrive, the fees and the Gem rules catch people who did not read them, and one unresolved fake-card claim stands against a lot of delivered orders.
If you want the same format with a wider prize list, Krush.gg is the closest thing among the mystery box sites we cover: watches, cars, sneakers and Pop Mart beside its Pokémon boxes, a stated 10% to 15% house edge, and winnings paid to a balance you can withdraw. Cases.gg prints a 10% edge and has 431 boxes, but it is US-only and mostly luxury goods.
