Treecko #78 comes from the Arceus set, released back in 2009, and as a Common illustrated by TOKIYA it was never meant to be a chase card, it was just a nice, simple piece of that set's charm. If you're searching Treecko value right now, here's the short version: it's a $2 raw card that most people pick up for the nostalgia rather than the payout, and that's perfectly fine. Collectors still love it because early Treecko prints have that clean, uncomplicated Arceus-era look that a lot of us grew up with.

The collector's take on Treecko

Is Treecko worth grading?

So is it worth grading? Let's be honest about the math here. A raw Treecko sits at $2, and a PSA 10 comes in at roughly 1.1x that raw price, which puts it right around $2 too, basically a wash once you factor in grading fees. Interestingly, a Grade 9 copy is actually valued higher, at $9, which happens sometimes with lower-value commons where the grading company's fee and turnaround eat into any upside from a perfect 10. Grading costs money and takes time, and gem mint is never guaranteed even on a card that looks flawless to the naked eye, so for a card like this, most collectors are better off enjoying it raw unless they're grading a whole batch anyway or this one just means something to them personally.

How rare is Treecko?

Only 40 copies of Treecko have been graded in total, and out of those, just 2 have hit PSA 10. That's a genuinely small population for gem mint copies, so if you do land a perfect one, you're holding something very few other people have bothered to get slabbed, or been able to. That said, scarcity in population doesn't always translate to a big price jump, and with Treecko, the market has kept things modest, so rarity here is more of a bragging rights thing than a wallet thing.

Where can you pull Treecko?

We've tracked 18 recorded pulls of Treecko across mnstr and collector-crypt, so it does show up in the wild, it's not one you'll never see. It's turned up in Pack 1, Pack 5, and the Starter Pokémon Gacha Pack, and the biggest pull value we've logged for it sits at $72, which tells you that even a modest common can occasionally land in a pack worth chasing for other reasons. That's the real value of tracking actual pulls rather than just price guides, you get to see where a card like this genuinely surfaces instead of guessing. Worth remembering though, opening packs is a gamble no matter what, and most rips don't come out ahead financially, so treat any pull like this as a fun bonus, not a plan.

Questions people ask

How much is Treecko worth?+

A raw, ungraded Treecko #78 from the Arceus set is valued at $2. It's a Common card illustrated by TOKIYA, so it's priced accordingly, but plenty of collectors still enjoy picking it up for the nostalgia and the artwork.

Is Treecko worth grading?+

Not really, from a pure value standpoint. A PSA 10 comes out to about 1.1x the raw price, landing near $2, which barely covers grading costs, and interestingly a Grade 9 is actually valued higher at $9. Unless you're grading it for personal collection reasons, it's usually more practical to keep this one raw.

How much is a PSA 10 Treecko worth?+

A PSA 10 Treecko is valued at $2, right in line with the 1.1x multiplier over its raw price. Only 2 out of the 40 graded copies have reached that gem mint grade, so it's rare in hand even if the price tag stays modest.
