Slowpoke #79 value & price
Reviewed by Mumbles · Updated 14 Sept 2026Related Slowpoke & chase cards
Tap to openSlowpoke is one of those Pokemon everybody has a soft spot for, and this printing comes from the Scarlet & Violet 151 set, released back in 2023 with artwork from OKACHEKE. It's a Common card, so it was never meant to be a chase pull, but the 151 set has such a strong nostalgic pull that people still stop to check the Slowpoke value before they toss it in a binder or a bulk box. Right now a raw copy sits at $4, which tells you this is a card people collect more for love than for money, though the story changes fast once grading enters the picture.

The collector's take on Slowpoke
Is Slowpoke worth grading?
Here's where it gets interesting: a raw Slowpoke is $4, but a PSA 10 sells for $930, which works out to about 257.0x the ungraded price. That's a massive jump for a Common card, and it's the kind of number that makes collectors wonder if grading is worth it. The honest answer is that gem mint is genuinely hard to hit here, and even a Grade 9 only brings $80, so anything short of that flawless PSA 10 leaves you well short of covering grading fees and shipping. If you've got a copy that looks sharp under a loupe, corners crisp and centering clean, it might be worth the gamble. If it's got any soft corners or print lines, you're probably better off keeping it raw or selling as is, because grading costs money whether or not the card comes back a 10.
How rare is Slowpoke?
Across every submission that's come back, only 206 copies of this Slowpoke have been graded, and just 50 of those earned a PSA 10. That means gem mint copies make up a fairly small slice of an already small graded population, which helps explain why the PSA 10 price sits so far above the raw and Grade 9 figures. For a Common card, that kind of gap between raw and top grade is unusual, and it's a good reminder that scarcity in high grade can matter just as much as scarcity in print run.
Where can you pull Slowpoke?
This is where PackSpy's own data comes in handy, because we track real pack openings across sites rather than just guessing. Slowpoke has been pulled 200 or more times across courtyard, collector-crypt, tilt-rips, mnstr and packs, so it's a card that does show up with real regularity if you're opening from the right places. It's turned up in packs like The Amazing Chase Encore, the Starter Pokémon Gacha Pack, Pokemon Dime Pack, Rookie Pack and Pokémon Starter Pack, and the biggest recorded pull value we've logged for it sits at $700. Worth remembering, though: opening packs is a gamble no matter how many times a card shows up, and most rips don't turn a profit, so treat any pull as a bonus rather than a plan.
Questions people ask
How much is Slowpoke worth?+
A raw, ungraded Slowpoke from Scarlet & Violet 151 is valued at $4. That number moves a lot once grading gets involved, with a Grade 9 reaching $80 and a PSA 10 climbing all the way to $930.
Is Slowpoke worth grading?+
It can be, but only if the card is truly gem mint quality, since a PSA 10 sells for 257.0x what a raw copy brings. With only 50 PSA 10s out of 206 total graded copies, hitting that top grade isn't guaranteed, so weigh the grading cost against the real chance your copy comes back lower, like a Grade 9 at $80.
How much is a PSA 10 Slowpoke worth?+
A PSA 10 Slowpoke is valued at $930, which is a big leap from the $4 raw price. That gap reflects just how few copies reach gem mint, with only 50 PSA 10s recorded out of 206 graded total.
