The collector's take on Charmander

Is Charmander worth grading?

Here's the honest answer to whether Charmander is worth grading: it depends on what you're holding and how patient you are. A raw copy sits at $56, but a PSA 10 jumps all the way to $5,689, which works out to about 101.8 times the raw price. That's a real gap, and it's tempting. But gem mint is genuinely hard to hit on a card this age, centering and surface wear add up over the years, and grading fees plus shipping and turnaround time are real costs you eat whether you pull a 10 or a 7. If you've got a copy that looks sharp under a loupe, corners crisp, no whitening, it might be worth the gamble. If it's got soft edges or a hint of print line, save your money and enjoy it raw.

How rare is Charmander?

Out of everything ever submitted, only 339 copies of this Charmander have been graded, and just 30 of those came back a PSA 10. That's a tight population for a common card, and it tells you something: most copies that get sent in don't come back perfect. When you're down to 30 gem mint copies in the entire world, the price naturally reflects that scarcity, which is exactly why the PSA 10 figure is so far removed from the raw price. Population reports like this are the quiet backbone of what a card is really worth.

Where can you pull Charmander?

We've tracked this Charmander getting pulled 8 times across pack sites we monitor, with mnstr being the source, and the biggest recorded pull landing at $190. It's shown up in Pack 5 and Pack 2 specifically, so if you're chasing this one live, those are worth watching. That said, eight recorded pulls isn't a lot, and most people who own this card bought it on the secondary market rather than ripped it themselves. It's a good reminder that pack opening is a gamble, most rips don't come close to covering what you spent, and PackSpy's job is just to show you the real numbers as they happen, not sell you a dream.

Questions people ask

How much is Charmander worth?+

A raw, ungraded Charmander from Power Keepers is worth $56. Once you get into graded copies, a Grade 9 sits at $133, and a PSA 10 climbs to $5,689. The gap between raw and gem mint is huge on this one, so condition matters a lot when pricing it.

Is Charmander worth grading?+

It can be, but it's not guaranteed money. A PSA 10 is worth about 101.8x the raw price, which sounds great, but only 30 out of 339 graded copies have actually hit that grade. If your card is genuinely clean, it's worth considering, otherwise the grading fees may not pay off.

What set is Charmander from?+

This Charmander reverse holo is card #48 from the Power Keepers set, released in 2007. It's a common card illustrated by Sachiko Adachi, and despite the common rarity, it's held real collector interest over the years.
