Electrode is one of those quietly cool pulls from the 2005 Quick Construction Pack set, a Rare card illustrated by Kouki Saitou and originally released back in 2004. It carries that 1st Edition #4 stamp that collectors keep an eye out for, and if you are digging into Electrode value, you are in the right place because the numbers on this one are surprisingly tight.

The collector's take on Electrode

Is Electrode worth grading?

Here is the honest answer on grading Electrode: right now a Grade 9 and a PSA 10 both land at $3, so there is not a meaningful price jump between the two grades on this particular card. That means sending it off to get graded is really about protection and bragging rights rather than chasing extra dollars, since grading fees can easily outweigh what the card sells for afterward. If you already own a raw copy and love it, keeping it raw or getting a cheap slab for peace of mind makes more sense than gambling grading money hoping for a gem mint PSA 10.

How rare is Electrode?

Only 8 graded copies of this Electrode are known to exist, and just 3 of those hit PSA 10. That is an incredibly small population for any card, and it tells you that most copies out there have either never been submitted for grading or did not survive perfectly enough to earn a top grade. Scarcity like this usually pushes value up over time, though with such a tiny sample size, prices can also stay quiet simply because so few people are buying and selling it at once.

Where can you pull Electrode?

We track real pulls across pack sites, and Electrode has shown up 200 or more times across packs, collector-crypt, courtyard, and mnstr, which is more action than a lot of cards this old ever see. The biggest recorded pull value we have logged for it is $1,700, a reminder that even a modestly priced card can occasionally hit big in the right pack or bundle. If you are hunting for it yourself, it has turned up in XY Evolutions, Elite Pokémon Gacha Pack, Pokémon Starter Pack, Pokémon Basic Pack, and Pokémon Pro Pack, though as always with pack opening, it is a gamble and most rips do not come out ahead.

Questions people ask

How much is Electrode worth?+

The raw or ungraded price for this Electrode is not currently established, but graded copies are valued at $3 for a Grade 9 and $3 for a PSA 10. So whether you are holding a graded or ungraded copy, this is a card valued more for its rarity and story than for a big price tag right now.

Is Electrode worth grading?+

Given that Grade 9 and PSA 10 copies both sit at $3, grading Electrode is not going to net you extra money, so it comes down to whether you want the protection and authentication a graded slab offers. With only 8 graded copies total and 3 at PSA 10, gem mint is genuinely hard to hit, so go in knowing the odds and the cost of grading before you send it off.

Why is the Electrode 1st Edition #4 print worth more than the standard one?+

1st Edition cards generally carry extra appeal for collectors because they mark the earliest print run of a set, and with only 8 graded copies of this Electrode known to exist, that scarcity adds to the draw. We do not have a documented price for a standard, non 1st Edition version to compare directly, but the general rule in the hobby is that lower population and earlier print status tend to make a card more desirable over time.
