Kadabra is the #32 card out of the original 1999 Base Set, that first wave of Pokemon cards that got a whole generation collecting, and it still shows up in a lot of searches for Kadabra value today. It's only an Uncommon, illustrated by Ken Sugimori, so it was never the flashy pull of the set, but Base Set cards carry a certain weight just for being there at the start. Right now a raw copy sits at $2, which makes it a fun, low-stakes piece of that history to actually own.

The collector's take on Kadabra

Is Kadabra worth grading?

Here's the honest math: a raw Kadabra is $2, a Grade 9 jumps to $43, and a PSA 10 sits at $223, which works out to about 107.4 times the raw price. That's a real jump on paper, but grading isn't free, and you're paying that fee whether the card comes back a 10 or a 9 or lower. With only 192 PSA 10s out of 1,481 total graded copies, gem mint is genuinely hard to hit on a card this old, since Base Set copies often carry printing lines or centering issues from the factory itself. If you've got a copy that looks sharp in hand, corners crisp and centering even, it can be worth the shot. If it's got visible wear, you're probably better off enjoying it raw or selling as is rather than gambling the grading fee away.

How rare is Kadabra?

With 1,481 total graded copies on record, Kadabra isn't a card most people would call rare in hand, plenty exist out there raw and ungraded in binders and bulk boxes. But once you look at the top end, things tighten up fast: only 192 of those graded copies earned a PSA 10. That's a small slice of an already limited pool, and it's exactly why gem mint copies command such a premium over the raw price. Population numbers like these are really the clearest window into why grading changes the story so much for a card that was never considered scarce to begin with.

Where can you pull Kadabra?

We've tracked 42 recorded pulls of Kadabra across sites like collector-crypt, lastpack, courtyard and mnstr, with the biggest single pull coming in at $618, well above what you'd expect from a $2 raw card. It's turned up in packs like the Starter Pokemon Gacha Pack, noobie, Pokemon Master Pack, Pokemon Starter Pack and Pokemon Pro Pack, so it's not a card tied to one specific product. That said, most Kadabra copies out there aren't coming from pack pulls at all, they're bought straight off the secondary market, and that's worth keeping in mind before you go chasing one in a pack. Opening packs for a specific card is always a bit of a gamble, and the odds rarely favor you, so treat any pull as a bonus rather than the plan.

Questions people ask

How much is Kadabra worth?+

A raw, ungraded Kadabra from Base Set is valued at $2 right now. Graded copies are worth quite a bit more, with a Grade 9 sitting at $43 and a PSA 10 reaching $223. So the real answer depends a lot on the condition and whether it's been graded.

Is Kadabra worth grading?+

It can be, since a PSA 10 is worth about 107.4 times the raw price. But only 192 out of 1,481 graded copies have hit that PSA 10 grade, so gem mint is far from guaranteed. Grading fees aren't refundable, so it's worth being honest about your copy's condition before sending it in.

How much is a PSA 10 Kadabra worth?+

A PSA 10 Kadabra is currently valued at $223. That's a big step up from the raw price of $2 and from Grade 9 at $43, which shows just how much a perfect grade matters for this card. With only 192 PSA 10s in the total population of 1,481 graded copies, that top grade stays genuinely hard to come by.
