Raichu has always been one of those Pokemon that collectors have a soft spot for, and the #74 print from the Korean Clay Burst set is a nice one to have your eye on if you're weighing up its worth. Right now the raw, ungraded card sits at $15, which makes it an approachable pickup whether you're chasing it for a collection or just curious what a Raichu value actually looks like in today's market. It's not a chase card that breaks the bank, but it's got enough demand behind it that the numbers are worth understanding properly.

The collector's take on Raichu

Is Raichu worth grading?

So is Raichu worth grading? Here's the honest math: a raw copy is $15, a Grade 9 comes in at $38, and a PSA 10 sits at $85, which works out to about 5.7 times the raw price. That's a real jump, no question, but gem mint is called gem mint for a reason. Hitting a PSA 10 means the card has to come out of the pack or your collection with sharp corners, clean edges and centering that holds up under a grader's eye, and plenty of copies just don't get there. Add in the grading fees and the wait time you're signing up for, and it only really makes sense if you've already got a copy that looks close to flawless. If it's got a soft corner or a hint of a scratch, you're often better off enjoying it raw or selling it as is rather than gambling the grading fee on a Grade 9 outcome.

How rare is Raichu?

There's no official population count to point to here, so it's hard to say exactly how many PSA 10s exist versus how many are still sitting raw in binders. What we can say is that Clay Burst is a Korean set, and Korean prints tend to see smaller print runs and less grading traffic overall compared to their English counterparts, which naturally makes clean, well-centered copies a bit harder to track down. That scarcity in the higher grades is really what's driving the gap between the $15 raw price and the $85 PSA 10 price. When fewer copies exist in gem mint condition, the ones that do exist carry a premium simply because there's less competition to go around.

Where can you pull Raichu?

This is where PackSpy's own data earns its keep, because we've actually tracked Raichu getting pulled 200 or more times across sites like courtyard, tilt-rips, collector-crypt, packs and lastpack. That's a real, recorded pull history, not a guess, and it tells you this card shows up with some regularity if you're opening the right products. Specifically, we've seen it turn up in the Pokémon Master Pack, Pokémon Pro Pack, Pokemon Mini Pack, Pokémon Basic Pack and Pokémon Starter Pack. Worth noting too: the biggest single pull value we've logged for this card hit $900, which is a reminder that pack odds can swing wildly depending on grade and luck. Just keep in mind, opening packs is a gamble by nature, and most rips won't come close to that number, so go in with realistic expectations rather than chasing a jackpot.

Questions people ask

How much is Raichu worth?+

A raw, ungraded Raichu #74 from Clay Burst is currently valued at $15. Graded copies climb from there, with a Grade 9 sitting at $38 and a PSA 10 reaching $85, so the price really depends on the condition and whether it's been graded.

Is Raichu worth grading?+

It can be, since a PSA 10 is worth about 5.7 times the raw price at $85 versus $15. But gem mint copies are genuinely hard to hit, and grading costs money and time, so it's really only worth it if your copy already looks close to perfect.

What set is Raichu from?+

This particular Raichu is card #74 from the Korean Clay Burst set. It's shown up in pack products including the Pokémon Master Pack, Pokémon Pro Pack, Pokemon Mini Pack, Pokémon Basic Pack and Pokémon Starter Pack.
