Tepig has always had a soft spot in collectors' hearts, that stubborn little fire pig who never quite gets enough credit before he evolves into something bigger. This particular Tepig, the Holo #13 from the McDonald's 2021 set, catches people's eye because of the Ken Sugimori artwork and because it came without an assigned rarity, tucked into a promotional run that a lot of casual collectors picked up without realizing what they had. Right now the raw Tepig value sits around $3, which makes it an easy card to pick up but also one worth understanding before you buy, sell, or send it off to a grading company.

The collector's take on Tepig

Is Tepig worth grading?

Here's the honest math: a raw copy sits at $3, a Grade 9 climbs to $18, and a PSA 10 jumps all the way to $58, which works out to 20.3 times the raw price. That's a real jump, and it's the number that gets people excited about grading. But gem mint is genuinely hard to land on a card like this, McDonald's promo sheets aren't known for flawless centering, and a lot of copies come back as 8s or 9s instead of perfect 10s. Grading costs money and takes time, and there's no guarantee your copy comes back at the top, so if you're asking is Tepig worth grading, the honest answer is: only if your copy already looks sharp under a loupe, corners crisp, centering clean, no surface wear. If it's already got a soft corner or slight print line, you're probably better off keeping it raw or selling it as is.

How rare is it?

Population numbers tell the real story here. There are 1,101 graded copies of this Tepig on record, and out of that total only 259 have come back as PSA 10. That's not a huge population overall, but it's also not razor thin, which is part of why the price stays modest even at the top grade. The gap between total graded and true gem mint copies is what keeps PSA 10 demand steady, collectors chasing that top grade know it's earned, not handed out.

Where to pull it

This is where PackSpy's own data earns its keep, because no price guide tracks actual pulls across pack sites the way we do. We've recorded Tepig being pulled 133 times across tilt-rips, collector-crypt, and courtyard, with the biggest recorded pull landing at $100. It's shown up in a mix of products, Pokemon Starter Pack, Pokemon Premium Pack, Elite Pokémon Gacha Pack, Pokemon Expert Pack, and Starter Pokémon Gacha Pack, so it's not tied to one specific box. Worth saying plainly though: opening packs is gambling, most rips don't beat what you paid, and Tepig is a nice hit but rarely the jackpot. If you specifically want this card, buying it directly off the secondary market is usually the steadier route.

Questions people ask

How much is Tepig worth?+

A raw, ungraded Tepig Holo #13 is valued around $3. Graded copies climb from there, with a Grade 9 sitting near $18 and a PSA 10 reaching $58, which is 20.3 times the raw price.

Is Tepig worth grading?+

It can be, since the jump to PSA 10 is over 20 times the raw value, but gem mint copies aren't easy to hit. Check your card carefully first, if it's already clean and well centered it's a much safer bet to send in.

What set is Tepig from?+

This Tepig Holo #13 comes from the McDonald's 2021 set, released in 2021, with artwork by Ken Sugimori. It doesn't carry an assigned rarity, which is typical for that promotional release.
