Frogadier is the little water-type from the Obsidian Flames set, released back in 2023, and it's the kind of card that quietly won people over with Tonji Matsuno's clean, expressive artwork. It's an uncommon, so it was never going to be a chase card, but that hasn't stopped people from wondering what a Frogadier value actually looks like today. The honest answer is that it sits at the modest end of the market, but there's more going on underneath than the raw price tag suggests.

The collector's take on Frogadier

Is Frogadier worth grading?

Here's where it gets interesting. A raw, ungraded Frogadier currently sits at $0, while a PSA 10 in gem mint condition is valued at $72, and a Grade 9 comes in at $13. That PSA 10 number works out to 453.1 times the raw price, which sounds dramatic until you remember that grading costs money upfront, takes time, and there's no guarantee your copy comes back gem mint. With only a handful of copies graded at all, hitting that perfect 10 is far from a sure thing. If you've got a copy that looks flawless under a light and a loupe, grading could be worth the gamble. If it's got soft corners or a whitened edge, it's probably better loved as is.

How rare is it?

The population numbers here tell a pretty clear story. Only 8 copies of Frogadier have been graded in total, and of those, 7 came back as PSA 10. That's a striking ratio, it means almost everyone who bothered to submit this card ended up with a gem mint result, which suggests either exceptional print quality or a very small, careful sample size. Either way, graded Frogadier copies are genuinely rare to come across, and that scarcity is baked into why the PSA 10 price sits so far above the raw and Grade 9 numbers.

Where to pull it

We've tracked 24 real pulls of Frogadier across collector-crypt and courtyard, so this isn't a card that never shows up, it's just not common either. The biggest recorded pull value came in at $108, which is a nice reminder that even an uncommon card can occasionally land in a pack worth chasing. If you're hoping to pull one yourself, keep an eye on the Starter Pokémon Gacha Pack, Pokémon Starter Pack, Elite Pokémon Gacha Pack, Pokémon Master Pack, and Wildcard Starter Pack, all of which have produced Frogadier pulls in our data. Just know going in that opening packs is a gamble more often than not, most rips don't pay for themselves, and the fun should come first.

Questions people ask

How much is Frogadier worth?+

A raw, ungraded Frogadier currently sits at $0, while a Grade 9 is valued at $13 and a PSA 10 gem mint copy comes in at $72. The jump between raw and PSA 10 works out to 453.1 times the value, which shows just how much condition and grading can matter for this card.

Is Frogadier worth grading?+

It depends on the copy in hand. With only 8 total graded and 7 of those coming back PSA 10, gem mint results seem achievable if the card is genuinely sharp, but grading costs money and there's never a guarantee. If your copy has visible wear, it's probably not worth the submission fee.

What set is Frogadier from?+

Frogadier #57 comes from the Obsidian Flames set, released in 2023. It's an uncommon card illustrated by Tonji Matsuno, and while it's not a chase pull, we've recorded it turning up in packs like the Elite Pokémon Gacha Pack and Pokémon Master Pack.
